Most accessed papers in physica status solidi for September 2012

by | Nov 15, 2012

Most downloaded papers from the physica status, including as the ‘pss classic’ on amorphous germanium by Jan Tauc from 1966 and much more.

We present the most downloaded papers from the pss family of journals in September. The list for pss (b) (including the backfiles of the original physica status solidi journal of the 1960s) is currently led by an article written by the late Jan Tauc in 1966. Today, this ‘pss classic’ on amorphous germanium – the most highly cited article ever of the entire journal (1739 citations according to Web of Science as of 13 November 2012) – is still being referenced every second day (i.e., 176 times in 2011 alone), confirming the strong current interest in non-crystalline materials.
