The current state-of-the-art in the field of polymer science with a strong emphasis on application is presented in a recently published special issue of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science. The featured results cover a broad range of topics, including (among many others) polymeric membranes, (nano)fiber modification and properties, cellulose nanocrystals, and rubber composites – with all papers exclusively written by present members of the journal’s editorial board.

The special issue includes a total of seven Review articles that can be freely accessed using the following links:

Sustainable rubbers, by Anil Bhowmick et al.

Boehmite nanocomposites, by József Karger-Kocsis et al.

Soft-tissue engineering, by Sangamesh Kumbar et al.

Polymer blends for packaging applications, by Manjusri Misra et al.

Responsive polymers for cancer nanomedicine, by Nicholas Peppas et al.

Polymer nanogenerators, by Luana Persano et al.

Ice adhesion to polymer substrates, by Kenneth J. Wynne et al.

The Review articles listed above are accompanied by 19 additional Research articles, also presenting recent results from the work of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science board members.
